Man dead, woman injured in Hwy 105 crash near Lexington

One person is dead and another seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 105 near Lexington.

RCMP say the collision happened between Long Stretch Road and Lake Horton Road on Wednesday, around 1:25 p.m..

A Chevrolet CZT and a Jeep collided, sending both vehicles into a ditch.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 52-year-old man from Ontario, died at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old woman from Eskasoni, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the RCMP.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Highway 105 between Port Hastings and Lexington was closed for several hours and has since reopened.
