Mandatory water conservation order in Antigonish

There is about to be a mandatory conservation order in the Town of Antigonish.

It includes all residential and business customers in the Town and fringe areas.

These activities are banned:

  • watering your lawn, trees, shrubs, flower beds and vegetable gardens
  • filling pools
  • washing walkways, driveways and vehicles

If you break the rules, you could have your water turned off.

The splash pad at Columbus Field will also be turned off.

The order will remain in place until the James River Dam refills.

It goes into effect, 6 a.m., August 6th.
