Money for senior computer training to be used locally

The province is funding computer training for seniors in two local regions.

In a release Tuesday, the province announced $50,000 in funding for the Empowering Seniors Through Technology project.

It says the money will go to hire eight trainers to conduct workshops and individual lessons for seniors in eight regions in the province, including Guysborough Co. and Pictou-Antigonish.

It says the funding comes through SHIFT: Nova Scotia’s Action Plan for an Aging Population.
