There are some upcoming emergency room closures at local hospitals.
The Strait Richmond Hospital’s ER in Evanston shut down Saturday morning; it doesn’t re-open until 8 a.m. Sunday.
It will also close at 6 a.m. Wednesday until 8 a.m. Thursday.
The emergency department at the Victoria Co. Memorial Hospital in Baddeck will close at 4 p.m. Saturday, and re-open at 8 a.m. Sunday.
It will also shut down from 6 p.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday.
The temporary closures are a result of lack of physician coverage.
You’re asked to go to another ER or call 911 with a medical emergency during the closures; you can call 811 for any non-urgent issues.
