New Music Program Planned for Children with Autism

Autism Nova Scotia’s Strait Area Chapter has partnered with Krista Luddington, the creator of the children’s music development program “Music Through Play” to create a new music program for children with autism. The goal is to give autistic children a chance to express themselves in a therapeutic environment through music and to give them an opportunity to socialize and make friends.

Participants will have a chance to play a variety of percussion instruments, and its open to children on the spectrum aged five and older. Children that are sensitive to loud noises are welcome to wear hearing protection should they decide to take part in the program.

Sessions are set to be held on Sunday afternoons at the Mulgrave Memorial Centre starting on October 16th. Space is limited so you are asked to sign up soon.

To register your child or if you would like to volunteer with this or any other program being offered through the chapter you are asked to contact Chapter Support Coordinator Natalie Stevens at 902-777-1513 or email SA_RC@autismns.ca
