‘Need A Family Practice’ List Grows Again

The January numbers are in for the ‘Need a Family Practice’ registry in Nova Scotia.

The waiting list went up by more than 4,000 last month.

Over 6,400 went on the list, but around 2,100 were taken off.

It’s sitting at over 133-thousand, just over 13 percent of the provincial population as of February 1st.

Over 3,200 say they joined the list because their family practice closed, or their doctor retired.

Nova Scotia Health released the new figures yesterday.

Opposition parties have been calling on the province to release the numbers, and questioned why it’s taken so long.
