Guysborough‘s newest councillor has sat at his first regular council meeting.
Dave Hanham’s won April’s byelection in District 4 to replace Blair George, the long-time area councillor who passed away in January.
Hanhams, who was sworn in during a ceremony April 30, attended his first regular meeting Wednesday.
After, Vernon Pitts, the municipality’s warden, said Hanhams brings a lot to the council table.
“He brings an open mind and an open perspective on the way things can go,” he said. “I think he’s going to be a firm team player- it’s just to get him on the team, and experience is going to do that.”
Pitts said Hanhams is fully engaged and quite accessible to the residents of his district.
He said he’s already brought issues to him from District 4.
