Nova Scotia announced new funding dedicated to protecting historic archaeological sites in the province.
They’re investing $400,000 to help mitigate climate change risks to protect these cultural areas. The Cape Sable Historical Society will implement a climate change adaptation strategy as part of the funding. They will appoint an adaptation coordinator, create diverse implementation teams and develop strategy work plans.
They will oversee the implementation of the plan for the next two years.
The funding is part of Nova Scotia’s Climate Change Plan for Clean Growth, which aims to increase climate change adaptation capacity in communities and business sectors.
