New sports facility opens in Inverness

Get ready to hit the courts in Inverness.

The Inverness Multicourt Facility opens to the community on Saturday, October 11.

The County says you can enjoy playing pickleball, basketball, table tennis, and bean bag toss at the more than $4.7 million complex.

Pickleball courts are for pickleball use only in order to protect special court surface.

Players are asked to avoid wearing dark-soled shoes which will damage the floors.

Basketball courts may be used for casual games of other sports such as pickup hockey.

There are surveillance cameras and participants play at their own risk, according to the County.

The naming rights of the facility are coming soon.

Currently, courts are first-come, first-served, until there is a new booking system.

The sporting centre is located at 85 MacLean Street.

It will be open from 9 a.m. to dusk everyday.
