UPDATE: Reported school bus fire turns out to be steam from engine

A reported fire turned out to be steam on a school bus in Hants County.

The Brooklyn fire department responded in Ellershouse around 8:30 this morning.

The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education says the driver noticed what looked like smoke coming from under the hood.

The driver followed safety procedures by calling 911 and evacuating everyone on board.

Students boarded another bus and continued to West Hants Middle School.

The centre says they thank students on board for their cooperation, and emergency services for their quick response.
