Nova Scotia Sending Firefighters To Newfoundland

Nova Scotia is sending 20 firefighters to Newfoundland.

The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables wildland firefighters will leave from Shubenacadie today, and take the ferry in North Sydney.

They’ll arrive in Gander, Newfoundland tomorrow, and find out where they’ll be deployed.

Several forest fires continue to burn out of control in that province.

Natural Resources Minister Tory Rushton says current fire conditions here allowed for the firefighters to travel.
