Over 100 climate strike protests were held across the country Friday, and the organiser of one right here in the Quad Counties said hers went really well.
Roughly 30 people gathered at the Port Hastings rotary and visitor information centre.
Drew Muller said she’d been out since 9 a.m. and had only gotten one thumbs down.
Muller told The Hawk they want people to take action on climate change.
“Oh gosh, I mean, it’s the future right, like, for us, we may not see it right away, but this is what’s going to be the end-all be-all for humans,” she says. “I think that anybody seeing children out fighting for something is going to do something. So, if we’re kids, and we’re out here, and we want to fight for something that adults don’t want to talk about; then that’s got make a difference for something.”
Muller said it’s time to do something about climate change.
StFX students were also participating in the national climate strike, they walked out of classes this morning.
Faculty, staff, and community members joined them for a march through Antigonish.
