Over $100k of lobster seized in Shelburne County

A major seizure of lobster in Shelburne County.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans says their officers searched a facility in the area on Wednesday.

More than 13,000 pounds of lobster worth over $100,000 were seized, along with documents and electronic records.

One person was arrested for maintaining a lobster pound without the required licence, under the Fisheries Act.

DFO says it’s still under investigation, and they’re working closely with their provincial partners to stop the sale of lobster caught without a licence.
