Partial solar eclipse in Nova Scotia on October 14

Nova Scotia will be treated to a partial solar eclipse on Saturday, October 14.

It will begin at 1:43pm, peaking at 2:36pm and ending at 3:29pm, lasting 1 hour and 46 minutes.

You can see from the image below how much of the sun will be covered at the peak of the eclipse.

In other areas, specifically a narrow path that crosses the USA, Mexico, Central America, Colombia, and Brazil, the event will be an Annular Solar Eclipse or a ‘ring of fire” where only an outline of the sun will be visible.

This video gives a clear understanding of how narrow the path will be. The small orange dot indicates maximum coverage with the increasingly lighter shades showing less coverage.
