Plows making progress as snow clean-up continues

Many in northeastern Nova Scotia are still digging out from a major winter storm.

It dumped as much as 150 centimetres on some parts of Cape Breton.

The Department of Public Works says people in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality need to follow the local state of emergency.

That includes staying off the roads and avoiding unnecessary travel.

The department says all provincial roads should be open within the next day or so.

They say additional equipment from western NS, New Brunswick and PEI will help clear local roads in Antigonish, Pictou, Colchester and Cumberland counties.
