A pocketknife was confiscated from a student at Tamarac Education Centre (TEC).
A letter was sent to parents Thursday afternoon, saying staff are taking this very seriously.
School administration immediately acted once they learned a student had a knife at school.
TEC says the incident was reported to RCMP , and they are following up in accordance with the school code of conduct.
They ask parents and guardians to speak with their children about the consequences of possessing these potentially dangerous items.
They say the safety of students is their top priority.
