Popular TV series to feature medical equipment created in N.S.

A Nova Scotian flavour to a popular TV series.

If you’re a fan of medical drama ‘The Pitt‘ on HBO Max, you’ll see hospital equipment created in Dartmouth.

Thursday’s episode features ‘Ring Rescue,’ co-founded by emergency physician Dr. Kevin Spencer of Dartmouth General.

Their devices help get stuck rings off of fingers, which can go from a minor issue to a serious one, quickly.

Dr. Spencer met star of the award winning show Noah Wyle at a conference in Salt Lake City, and performed a demonstration.

He says it’s a major opportunity to raise awareness about a real clinical issue and the solution they provide.

Dr. Spencer adds that Nova Scotia is emerging as a leader in life sciences innovation.
