An Inverness County woman has died as a result of a suspected drowning in Port Hood.
RCMP…the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and the Port Hood Fire Department responded to a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at the unsupervised Day Park Beach.
RCMP say kayakers came across a woman in the water who was found unresponsive.
Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful and the 82-year-old woman from Port Hastings was pronounced deceased at the scene.
RCMP are continuing the investigation.
