Port Hawkesbury plans to request better cell service from MLA

Do you experience poor cell service in Port Hawkesbury?

Numerous residents have expressed their frustration to Councillor Blaine MacQuarrie.

This prompted him to ask Council to send a letter requesting network improvements to Inverness MLA Kyle MacQuarrie.

The Councillor expressed to us how the service is getting worse rather than improving.

“You have more cell phone users, and it’s the infrastructure keeping up with it. So that’s what this provincial program is about to make sure there’s additional infrastructure put in place, so that we can improve the enhancement of cell service,” he said.

He says there are dead zones throughout the community which shouldn’t happen with what residents pay to have reliable cell service.

This request follows the province’s announcement last year for cell service expansion for thousands in Nova Scotia.
