President of StFX says sending students home would be a far greater risk

StFX University will remain open with COVID-19 on the rise.

The president of StFX says almost 50% of the student population hails from outside of the Province of Nova Scotia and forcing the students to travel home at this time is a far greater risk than having them remain in Antigonish.

Kevin Wamsley says the school has activated a committee to oversee the pandemic preparedness and their work continues to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the campus community.

He says StFX will have an additional 10 cleaning staff with updated cleaning and disinfecting procedures.

Dalhousie University, King’s College, Mount Saint Vincent University and Saint Mary’s University have decided to move all classes online.
