Province funds $10M for food programs

The province is pumping $10 million to help communities tackle food insecurity.

Over 120 organizations will receive a piece of the total investment.

The funding is for locally produced food, nutrition programs and more.

Minister Allan MacMaster says it’s important to have healthy food in these challenging times, and the funding helps with immediate needs.

Mi’kmaw communities and organizations also received funding for food hamper and emergency food programs.

Many library programs that support food literacy and community spaces were also included.
