Province looking for feedback on proposed protected wilderness areas

NS Environment is looking for public feedback on new protected wilderness areas; one in the Quad Counties.

In a statement, Environment Minister Gordon Wilson announced Guysborough Co.’s Archibald Lake Wilderness Area is one of six newly protected areas, totaling about 8000 hectares of wilderness.

Consultations will remain open until March 9.

The newly declared areas are in addition to sites promised in September, including St. Mary’s River Provincial Park in Guysborough Co. and Pictou Co., and Barra Forest Provincial Park in Victoria Co.
