The Province of Nova Scotia is investing an additional $4 Million in the Rural Impact Mitigation program and equipment to improve provincial roadways.
The government has already increased its commitment to the program by $11 million as well as investing $20 Millon more in the Gravel Road Capitol program. These investments will help to cover the cost of maintenance work such as brush cutting, guardrail repairs, and pavement patching.
Public works minister Kim Masland says improving provincial roads is important for the safety of Nova Scotians and this investment with extend the lifespan of this vital infrastructure.
