Province to develop autism action plan

The province will develop an autism action plan.

They’ll look to identify strategies to better support the needs of those with autism and make recommendations on more supports.

Mental Health and Addictions minister Brian Comer says people with autism and their families deserve this plan.

He says it will give a clearer picture and a path forward to work with their partners to fill in the gaps in service.

Autism Nova Scotia will work with the province on the plan, there will be public consulations this fall.

It’s is expected to be in place next spring.
