Crews continue to restore bridges that were damaged in last month’s floods.
13 of the 30 being worked on were completely destroyed.
Public Works Minister Kim Masland says they addressed isolated areas first.
“We had significant bridge damage, but we certainly had enough bailey bridges installed. Our main priority is making sure there are no isolated areas, and we don’t have any isolated areas right now,” said Masland.
Over 200 staff are working with private contractors to get things back to normal.
Masland says they appreciate everyone’s patience during this difficult time.
“Crews are getting up at 4 a.m. and working until late at night, I’ve seen them first hand. They are public servants, and will do what it takes to make sure our roads are safe.”
