Province’s winter parking ban in effect

The provincial winter parking ban has started.

The ban for provincial highways, which comes into effect Dec. 15 and runs until March 31 each year, is from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.; you’re also restricted from parking from one hour after a storm starts to two hours after it stops.

Bans in some municipalities in the Quad Counties are already in place.

The ban in the Town of Antigonish and Antigonish Co. started Dec. 1; the town ban includes all parking lots, as well as roads and parking lots on the campus of StFX.

Mulgrave’s ban also came into effect Dec. 1; Port Hawkesbury’s ban started Nov. 15.
