Pub fire in Antigonish

Piper’s Pub says everyone is safe and no one was injured in the kitchen fire Monday morning.

They will be closed for the time being and will update the public when they are able to.

“We’re focusing on rebuilding and coming back to be the staple that Antigonish knows and loves,” they say in a heartfelt Facebook post. “The support from the community already has been very emotional to all of us.”

The pub in Antigonish caught fire around 7 a.m. Monday morning, according to multiple reports.

Antigonish County Fire, RCMP and EHS were on scene to assist with putting out the blaze.

The structure fire was reported when black smoke was seen at a commercial establishment.

We have reached out to the fire department.
