Officials with the provincial government have announced funding to help prevent domestic violence, and reps with some local organizations are on the list.
Reps with 24 groups across the province are receiving grants that total $912,000 through Standing Together, a provincial plan aimed at preventing domestic violence and supporting victims and their family members.
Officials with Family Services of Eastern Nova Scotia will receive $75,000 for their project “Strait Area Healthy Relationships: Engaging Men and Boys.”
Antigonish Naomi Society reps are getting $10,000 for their project “A Youth’s Perspective: Engaging Children and Youth in Discussion on Domestic Violence.”
Members of the Union of Nova Scotia Indians are in line for $10,000 for their “New Paths” project in Cape Breton’s five Mi’kmaw communities, including We’koqma’q and Potlotek.
