Issues with the Strait Area Transit Service were brought to the attention of Richmond County Council.
According to councilor Melanie Sampson, the service is dealing with a staffing shortage and residents are struggling with the transit schedule making it harder for them to go to work and school.
Sampson says Straight Area Transit provides a valuable public transit service to residents of Richmond County and the Strait Area, and the municipality is committed to providing the assistance they need that will allow them to continue operating effectively.
The municipality will brainstorm possible solutions going forward.
