Roadwork in Antigonish – when to expect delays

Driving around Antigonish can be a bit tricky lately due to roadwork.

The new roundabout from the old highway to Church Street is still under construction and work on West and Bay Streets is also underway.

It may be your lucky day and delays will be minimal but it would be a safe bet to plan for lengthy delays.

The Town of Antigonish posts updates each Friday with the upcoming weeks construction schedule.

Today (November 14) Bay Street:

Crews will be working from 7am-6pm.

For the week of November 17-21 Bay Street:

Crews will be working day shifts Monday through Friday from 7am-6pm. Night shifts will take place Monday to Thursday from 7pm -6am

Traffic control will be in place on Bay Street, Main Street, and St. Andrews Street.

Today (November 14) West/James Street:

Crews will be working from 7am-6pm.

For the week of November 17-21 West/James Street:

Crews will be working Monday to Friday from 7am-6pm.

(There may be limited access to the skatepark parking lot periodically throughout the day on Monday, November 17)

Traffic control will be in place, with a detour along Fairview Street to Highland Drive.
