Sarah Mitton wins silver at world indoor championships

Liverpool native Sarah Mitton has added another medal to her growing international résumé.

Mitton captured silver in shot put at the World Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend in Poland, marking her fourth podium finish at a global competition.

The two-time Olympian recorded a top throw of 19.78 metres, finishing second overall.

American Chase Jackson took gold after surpassing the 20-metre mark.

With the world championships now behind her, Mitton turns her attention to the Diamond League, the premier annual track and field circuit, which begins in May.
