Snow squalls are expected in western Cape Breton.

Environment Canada says it could start early Monday morning and persist into the afternoon.

Snow will accumulate quickly and affect visibility, making it near zero at times.

You are asked to monitor for alerts.

Strait Regional Centre for Education class cancellations:

Due to predicted deteriorating weather conditions, classes have been cancelled at Cape Breton Highlands, Inverness Academy, Dalbrae, SAERC, Tamarac Education Centre, Bayview, Whycocomagh, Pleasant Bay school, East Richmond, Felix Marchand, Richmond Education Centre Academy.
