Speeding causes risk and cost

Driving at high-speed results in high risks and costs, reminds the RCMP.

There were three stunt-speeders charged with speeding over 50 kilometres per hour on Highway 104 in Antigonish County last weekend.

They were:

– An 18-year-old driver from River Bourgeois,
– An 18-year-old driver from Truro, and
– A 24-year-old driver from Oakville, Ontario.

All were charged with a $2,422.50 fine and faced a seven-day license suspension and vehicle impoundment.

Police gave out a total of 35 traffic tickets and nine warnings.

The RCMP is committed to reducing both serious injuries and collisions by promoting prevention, education, and enforcement.

They remind drivers to slow down.
