SRCE encourages you to celebrate Literacy Month this January

Being a bookworm has many benefits, especially for students.

That’s according to the Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) that’s celebrating Literacy Month this January.

They recommend setting aside time to read with children and youth this month, and year-round.

Doing this will help inspire them to be lifelong readers and develop their listening and language skills for future success.

Along with reading a book together, they suggest playing a word game, creative writing and using a recipe as alternatives.

Lifelong success can come from developing and strengthening literacy skills, according to the SRCE.

You can also celebrate Family Literacy Day on January 27.
