StFX Students Reminded to Celebrate Homecoming Responsibly

St Francis Xavier University and the Town of Antigonish and the Students Union are working to ensure this year’s homecoming celebrations are safe for everyone.

” We have created a schedule of engaging on campus-events to create memorable and safe homecoming celebrations.” Says StFX President Dr. Andy Hakin. “We have seen what can happen when unsanctioned events occur off campus and how they impact communities. We want to prevent the significant risks to health and safety that ad hoc gatherings pose.”

Large scale street gatherings and the consumption of alcohol on the streets will not be tolerated. The president of the StFX Students Union Brendan Roberts wants everyone to have fun safely, adding that this is a time to socialize and focus on our community both on and off campus. Town of Antigonish Mayor Laurie Boucher wants homecoming to be a positive experience for both the Town and University.

Details about the sanctioned events can be found on the StFX website and their social media accounts.
