Strait2Ukraine’s fundraising efforts have paid off. The group will be receiving the YMCA Peace Medal for helping Ukrainian refugees settling in Nova Scotia and for going above and beyond with their fundraising.
Group member Brenda Cooper says they were humbled to receive the honour and she would like to thank her fellow volunteers and community members for their hard work.
The award will be presented to the group at the John W Lindsay YMCA in Halifax during their Peace Medal Breakfast on November 18th.
