Strike over at NSCAD, workers go back Monday

The strike at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in Halifax is over.

In a statement on their website, CUPE 3912 says 63 members voted 89 per cent in favor of arbitration.

It comes after workers walked the picket lines for two weeks. Key sticking points were better pay and job security.

Members joined the union in 2023 but were unable to come to an agreement.

“Thank you to all members who showed up on the picket line in person and online making this a successful strike!” says CUPE.

Workers will be back on the job, Monday.
