It looks like some school support workers will soon be back in the classroom.
The local union that represents the workers says a tentative agreement has been reached with the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education.
Nova Scotia General Employees Union President Sandra Mullen says they were called back to the bargaining table yesterday morning.
“We worked through the day and evening to reach what we feel, is a very good agreement going forward,” says Mullen.
If the deal is ratified after a vote tomorrow, the workers will return to school on Wednesday.
Mullen says union members fought for fair wages.
“Their efforts made government leaders listen on both sides of the House.”
The workers have been on strike since October 24th, and demanded equal wages for all support workers in the province.
South Shore union members will be at the table tomorrow.
