Suspect in Richmond Co. traffic stop has case adjourned

A Dartmouth man charged with drug and weapons offences following a traffic stop in Richmond Co. is expected back in court in the summer.

RCMP say officers stopped a vehicle for speeding near St. Peter’s late Sunday.

They say they searched the vehicle, and found a machete, handgun, cocaine and cash.

Bruce Mills, 48, faces one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking and laundering proceeds of crime, along with five weapons-related charges.

Mills, whose made his first court appearance in the case Monday, had a bail hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Tuesday; he’s scheduled for election-and-plea July 26.
