Suspicious fire causes $150K in damage in East Tracadie

Antigonish RCMP is investigating a suspicious fire in East Tracadie.

The fire occurred on Wharf Road around 1:30 a.m. on September 2.

Police learned that a travel trailer had caught fire and was totally destroyed.

A nearby building containing 300 lobster traps, and 2 other travel trailers were also damaged as a result of the fire.

The fire resulted in approximately $150,000 in damage.

Based on preliminary investigation, police believe the fire to be suspicious in nature and that the travel trailer was targeted.

Anyone in the area or anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Antigonish RCMP.
