Teens rescued after Skyline Trail hike

An Inverness Co. hike led to a pair of teenagers getting lost and in need of rescue.

RCMP say a boy and girl, both 17, went off the travelled portion of the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

They say they were reported lost at roughly 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police say Cheticamp officers used two snowmobiles to reach them about 500 metres from the trail.

They say the young man and young woman, who didn’t require medical attention, were taken back to their car at roughly 6 p.m.
