If you had to go out over the weekend, it probably was not for long.
Temperature records were smashed on Friday and Saturday in our province with wind chills ranging from -35 to -45.
Many long standing low temperature records were broken in Halifax, Port Hawkesbury and Kentville.
Yarmouth broke a low record that stood for 138 years.
The cold weather and high wind caused burst pipes and thousands of power outages with 30,000 homes without electricity at one point.
Many were restored by Sunday.
