Temporary closures at local ERs

There are temporary emergency room closures at two local hospitals this weekend and into next week.

The Eastern Memorial Hospital in Canso:
Closed: Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 a.m.
Closed: Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Sunday, Sept 27 at 7 a.m.
Closed: Sunday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Monday, Sept 27 at 7 a.m.
Closed: Monday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 8 a.m.
Closed: Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8 a.m.

The Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck:
Closed: Friday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m.; Reopens: Saturday, Sept. 26 at 8 a.m.
Closed: Saturday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m.; Reopens: Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 a.m.
Closed: Sunday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.; Reopens: Monday, Sept. 28 at 8 a.m.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says the closures are due to lack of physician coverage.
