The Inverness County Heritage and Culture Sector Makes Recommendations for Preserving History

A presentation was conducted by members The Inverness County Heritage and Culture Sector at the Municipality of the County of Invernesses last regular meeting of council.

The sector consists of volunteers from all the culture and heritage organizations in the county and in December they held a meeting to discuss options for preserving local history.

The sector recommends establishing an Inverness County archives, to hire a heritage and culture advisor, develop a three-year plan for the sector, and to update municipal funding for culture and heritage.

They also want the county to consider having celebrations for their bi centennial year.

The municipal council plans to discuss these recommendations at a later date.
