Wagmatcook First Nation Receives Funding for Feasibility Report

Wagmatcook First Nation will be getting $100,000 from the Houston government to complete a feasibility report on two projects.

The projects include a multi use trail design and an all-terrain vehicle prioritization plan.

The community is divided by the trans Canada highway, and the report will evaluate how these projects can provide residents with safer and more convenient navigation pathways in the area.

MLA Keith Bain made this announcement today saying connectivity and active transportation are key to bringing communities closer together, by encouraging active lifestyles and lowering carbon emissions. He looks forward to seeing the results of the report.

This investment is among six projects across Nova Scotia that will benefit from a $350.000 investment from the Connect2 program. An initiative that provides funding for projects that will improve connectivity within and between communities and have the potential to reduce GHG emissions.
