Warden says Inverness wastewater plant odor key election issue

The Warden of the Municipality of the County of Inverness says their application for infrastructure funding to upgrade Inverness’s wastewater treatment plant will be front of mind during the federal election campaign.

After Thursday’s regular council meeting, Betty Ann MacQuarrie said their new MP needs to get the application moved forward.

MacQuarrie told The Hawk she went to the candidate’s forum in Inverness where the question of wastewater funding was raised.

“Would you defend our application for the inverness wastewater treatment plant?” she said. “Most of them said they would make every effort to do that, so that is promising. It didn’t sway me one way or another who had the most thorough response.”

MacQuarrie said they want an MP who’ll fight to get wastewater funding in Inverness.
