Wayne Reynolds, one of the founders of Port Hawkesbury’s Under the Mat Theatre has passed away.
He was a talented actor, and he was also the head of the Port Hawkesbury Judo Club for many years. He was known for the versatility of his acting roles where he could play anything from a solider in a dramatic piece to comedic characters.
Reynolds was also a skilled woodcarver who showed off his artwork at farmers markets.
Adam Cooke, a friend and theatre colleague of Reynolds says he was a special person, and you would never forget someone like him. He added that Wayne kept his energy and spirit until his last days and was very grateful to have had the chance not only to work with him but to live in the same community.
One of Cooke’s greatest memories of Reynolds was when he played the former MLA Ron Chisholm in a production done back in 2002.
