Winter parking regulations for Port Hawkesbury

The Traffic Authority for the Town of Port Hawkesbury is reminding drivers of winter parking regulations.

From November 15 to April 15, vehicles cannot be parked on public streets or highways between 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. or could be ticketed with a fine to pay.

This is to relieve congestion on roads in case of emergencies or special conditions and to allow plows to remove snow and ice.

Cars should also not be parked on the side of motorways during snowstorms or within an hour after the snowfall.

These regulations are despite any traffic signs that prohibit or permit parking or standing vehicles.
