A blast of winter is heading our way Monday into Tuesday.
An orange-level winter storm warning is in effect for Shelburne, Queens and Lunenburg counties.
Environment Canada is calling for 20-30 centimetres of snow, with up to 50 centimetres on the coast.
The snow is expected to be heavy and wet, with a transition to rain Monday night along the coast.
A yellow-level winter storm warning is in effect for the rest of western Nova Scotia, including Halifax.
Snowfall warnings are in place for eastern N.S. and most of Cape Breton.
Winds across the province could gust to 90 kilometres an hour at times, creating whiteout conditions.
Meanwhile, Nova Scotia Power will activate their Emergency Operations Centre Monday morning.
Storm lead Charlene MacMullin says they have crews positioned across the province in case of power outages.
