The Special Victims Section of the Integrated Investigation Division has charged a youth with sexual offences that occurred in Shad Bay.
On October 27th the Halifax District RCMP received a complaint of sexual assault involving youths and began an investigation. Officers learned that sexual assaults, distribution of intimate images, and extortion began in 2019 and involved a victim known to the offender.
The youth who was arrested and released on conditions will appear in Halifax Youth Justice Court on November 24th to face two charges of sexual assault and one of extortion.
The investigation is ongoing.
